Wild Radish is seeking an entrepreneurial, organized, and customer-focused Manager to oversee our farmers market operations. This role is responsible for driving sales, managing market teams, maintaining exceptional customer experiences, and ensuring smooth execution across multiple market locations.

Key Responsibilities
Market Operations
- Manage day-to-day operations across multiple farmers market locations.
- Set up and break down market booths, displays, signage, and equipment.
- Ensure all products are merchandised attractively and consistently.
- Maintain inventory levels and coordinate replenishment from the production team.
- Monitor product quality, freshness, and food safety standards.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise market staff.
- Create weekly staffing schedules and ensure coverage for all markets.
- Coach team members on customer service, sales techniques, and product knowledge.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback.
- Foster a positive, energetic, and accountable team culture.
Sales & Customer Experience
- Drive revenue growth through strong customer engagement and upselling.
- Build relationships with repeat customers and local community members.
- Educate customers about Wild Radish products, ingredients, sourcing practices, and mission.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
- Analyze sales trends and identify opportunities to increase market performance.
Inventory & Logistics
- Forecast inventory needs for each market.
- Coordinate transportation and delivery logistics.
- Track product movement, shrinkage, and waste.
- Manage market equipment, tents, tables, refrigeration units, and POS systems.
- Ensure all vehicles and equipment are maintained and market-ready.
Financial Management
- Reconcile daily sales and cash handling procedures.
- Monitor labor costs and market profitability.
- Prepare weekly sales reports and performance summaries.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) including:
- Sales per market
- Average transaction value
- Labor efficiency
- Customer retention
- Product sell-through rates
Business Development
- Evaluate new market opportunities.
- Develop partnerships with market organizers and local businesses.
- Gather customer feedback and market intelligence.
- Support special events, pop-ups, and promotional initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years of retail, food service, farmers market, or event management experience.
- 1+ years of team leadership experience.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work weekends consistently.
Preferred
- Experience managing farmers markets or food businesses.
- Experience with Square or other POS systems.
- Inventory management experience.
- Food safety certification (ServSafe or equivalent).
- Passion for healthy food, local agriculture, and entrepreneurship
