Fresh Basil Butter

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
- 1/2 cup fresh basil, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced or put through a fine grater
- 1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
- salt to taste
Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mash with the back of a large spoon to combine well. Put into a bowl or crock to serve immediately at room temperature or roll the butter in wax paper or plastic so that it is log-shaped and refrigerate it for up to a week. Can be used as a spread, on corn, as a topping for grains or scooped by the pat onto meats and fish.
