Irish Coffee
Created by The KitchnServes: 1
Course: Beverages
Diet: Vegetarian
Season(s): Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (or to taste)
- 6 ounces coffee, freshly brewed & hot
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1 1/2 ounces whiskey
Instructions
Whip the heavy cream until it forms soft peaks. Set aside. If you prefer to top your Irish Coffee with liquid cream, skip this step.
Fill your mug with hot water and let it sit for a few seconds to warm it up before dumping out the water. Then pour the hot coffee into the warmed mug. Stir in the two kinds of sugar until dissolved. Stir in the whiskey. If you are using liquid cream, you can avoid having the cream plume into the coffee by pouring it carefully over the back of a teaspoon so that it forms a layer over the coffee mixture. Otherwise, gently spoon the soft whipped cream into the mug.
Drink while hot.
