This small Long Island farm is family owned and operated. They grow both in the field and in an extensive group of greenhouses, which yield a wide variety of vegetables even through the winter. The farm is especially known for its loose leaf greens, which are flavorful and tender and available year-round. Sorrel, mizuna, baby kale, mustard and baby lettuce leaves will make an appearance in their salad and saute mixes over the course of a season. Farmer Vincent Lopez is careful to minimize or eliminate manufactured chemical inputs to the greatest extent possible, using compost and physical barriers to feed and protect the crops.
