When Nirmala Gupta first started making traditional Indian chutneys in her kitchen over 50 years ago, it was nothing more than a mom cooking dinner for her family. Purely a labor of love, these sweet, savory, and spicy delicacies were added to virtually any dish to instantly transform basic to beyond. Family members, particularly her entrepreneurial daughter Mona, caught wind that Nirmala was doing something different and encouraged her to think beyond her own four walls. Thus, Bombay Chutney Company was born.
Family-owned and operated from inception, Bombay Chutney Company believes that food is love. The original intention was to bring life-changing chutneys to the masses; while they still do that, they’ve since expanded to also offer a wide array of fresh-to-frozen Indian foods, basmati rice, gourmet curries and delicacies, and a selection of curated ayurvedic spices.
Although chutney and Indian food originally come from South Asia, Bombay Chutney Company wants to show the world that these savory specialties are for everyone. The majority of their foods are vegan, gluten-free, and have a friendly kick spice. Made from locally-sourced, all-natural, organic products, Bombay Chutney Company foods are as good for your body as they are for your taste buds.
