Ginger-Glazed Peaches

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup dry white wine
- 3/4 cup water
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- zest from 1 lemon
- 2 inch piece freshly grated ginger
- 8 peaches
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Instructions
Simmer wine, water, sugar, ginger and lemon, stirring occasionally, until reduced to about ¾ cup (approximately 15 minutes)While syrup is simmering, slice peaches and toss with lemon juice. Pour hot syrup through a fine sieve onto peaches. Stir, coating peaches thoroughly.
Let stand 20 minutes.
