Strawberry Buttermilk Soup

Ingredients
- 2 pints strawberries, hulled
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/3 cup sugar, preferably organic washed cane sugar
- 3-4 ice cubes
Instructions
Slice 4 strawberries and set them aside for garnish. In the bowl of a blender or good processor combine the remaining strawberries, buttermilk, sugar and ice. Puree until smooth.
Spoon the soup into 4 small serving bowls and garnish with the reserved strawberry slices. Serve with shortbread cookies if desired.
